Daily Reporting Message for Jurors
The instructions below are updated daily after 5:00 p.m.
GRAND JURORS: If this is your first time appearing for Grand Jury Service, follow the instructions on your Summons and appear at the time and place as indicated. You do not need to call the Code-A-Phone for further instructions if this is your first appearance.
ONLY RETURNING/EMPANELED GRAND JURORS should call the code-a-phone at 315-376-5348 for recorded reporting instructions on the day prior to their next scheduled return date, or check the Juror Message above.
TRIAL/PETIT JURORS (Supreme & County) are on “standby.” Trial/Petit jurors report for service only when instructed to do so by means of a recorded message. Jurors should follow the instructions as stated in their summons. The recorded message will advise you of the time and place you are to appear. The telephone standby number is 315-376-5348.
Town/Village Jurors check your summons for instructions. Please follow the instructions indicated on your summons. All questions or requests for postponement should be made directly to the Town or Village Justice listed on your Summons.

Absence or Emergency If illness or emergency prevents you from reporting at any time during your term, please call our office at 315-376-5317 after 8:30 a.m. as soon as possible.

Court Hours Court normally operates from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a lunch hour and breaks throughout the day. Court sessions rarely continue beyond 4:00 p.m.
Electronics Cell phones and other electronic devices may be used in the jury assembly room and other waiting areas, however, they must be turned off during jury selection and trial. There is public access Wi-Fi in the County courthouse. There are public computer work stations available in the 2nd Floor Public Resource Room.
Meals There is a mid-day lunch break every day. There are various eating establishments within a two block vicinity, as well as, McDonald's and Arby's approximately 1.5 miles from the courthouse.
Parking/Transportation The court does not pay for transportation fares, parking fees or parking violations. Parking is available behind the Lowville Fire Hall, next to the Village Park Area.
Verification of Attendance Jurors are required to sign in each day that they are present at the Courtroom. An attenance certificateis prinited on your summons and may be presented to the Commissioner of Juror's Office for certification as needed.
Security Court Officers are stationed throughout the court. Members of the public must pass through a magnetometer to enter. Please arrive early and allow extra time for this process.
What to Bring to Court Please be certain to completely fill out your Summons, sign it, and bring it with you to court, as well as, a pen or pencil.
