DAILY REPORTING MESSAGE FOR TRIAL JURORS
THERE IS NO JURY CALL FOR TUESDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2018.
PLEASE CHECK THIS MESSAGE AGAIN TUESDAY NIGHT FOR WEDNESDAY.
All TRIAL JURORS should only report for Jury Duty when instructed to do so. Your summons indicates the date your jury service
begins and it provides you with your Juror PHONE ID #. TRIAL JURORS report for service only when their PHONE ID # is listed in
the range of numbers to report or if it is listed on the recorded message (845 476-3604 OPTION #1). Jurors should check this
website or call the evening before they are summoned to start jury duty, AND, every day during that week after 5:00 PM.
GRAND JURORS ARE SUMMONED FOR A TWO TO THREE MONTH TERM REPORTING TWO DAYS A WEEK. PLEASE CHECK YOUR SUMMONS FOR INSTRUCTIONS.

Absence or Emergency If illness or emergency prevents you from reporting, please call our office at 845 476-3600 after 9:00 a.m. on the day you are to report.

Court Hours Court normally operates from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a lunch hour and breaks throughout the day. Court sessions rarely continue beyond 5:00 p.m.
Electronics Cell phones and other electronic devices may be used in the jury assembly rooms and other waiting areas. They must be turned off during jury selection and trial. There is public access Wi-Fi in the County courthouse.
Meals There is a mid-day lunch break every day.
Parking/Transportation The court does not pay for transportation fares, parking fees or parking violations. Free Parking on site.
Security Court Officers are stationed throughout the court. Members of the public must pass through a magnetometer to enter. Please arrive early and allow extra time for this process.
Court Delays or Closings Check this website or call (845) 476-3604, select option 1, after 7:30a.m. on the day you are to report for Jury Duty.
Certificates of Service Jurors will be given a Certificate of Service as verification of the dates they served.
EXCUSALS/TEMPORARY EXEMPTIONS FROM SERVICE:
Medical: A statement by a licensed physician, psychiatrist or psychologist setting forthdiagnosis of the mental or physical condition, and a conclusion that the juror is physically or mentally
not capable of performing jury service.
Age: Jurors 70 year of age or older may request to be excused.
Caregivers: Statement from the applicant that he or she is the primary caregiver and setting forth circumstances necessitating the caregiving services of the applicant, the
hours that the applicant provides such care. (Temporary Exemption: 2 years)
Financial Hardship: Jurors who are self employed or heads of households who are not compensated from their employer while
serving jury duty, must submit a letter verifying their hardship.(Temporary Exemption: 2 years)
Non-Citizen: Copy of Visa, Green Card, Passport or Permanent Registration Card.
Non-Resident: Copy of Lease, Utility Bill, Driver's License, etc., with name and new address on it.
Felony: Date, Location and Felony Committed.
English Language Difficulties: Verification by someone other than potential juror stating that juror cannot serve due to lack of understanding the English Language.
Clergy: Letter stating that Juror is a Member of the Clergy and this is their sole occupation.
Transportation: Copy of State Issued ID or letter stating that the juror has no transportation to and from the Courthouse. (Temporary Exemption: 2 years)
Armed Services: Letter stating currently serving in the armed forces, discharge date.
