Grand Jurors and Town/Village Jurors  check your summons for instructions.  
These instructions are updated daily after 5:00 p.m.
The phone number for the Commissioner of Jurors call in line is 585-283-6655 to hear a recorded message.
If you have received a summons to report as a trial juror, please check the website again after 5:00 p.m. starting the last business day before your scheduled reporting date.
A message will be available at that time to inform you whether or not you need to appear for court.

General Information​ ​
Absence or Emergency ​   ​If illness or emergency prevents you from reporting, please call our office at 585-283-6659 after 9:00 a.m. on the day you are to report.  In the event of inclement weather or emergency closings, information will be posted on this website as soon as it becomes available.

Court Hours   Court normally operates from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a lunch hour and breaks throughout the day.  Court sessions rarely continue beyond 5:00 p.m.  The Commissioner of Jurors Office opens at 8:30 a.m.
Electronics​  ​Cell phones and other electronic devices may be used during breaks.  They must be turned off during jury selection, trial, and grand jury sessions. There is public access Wi-Fi in the County courthouse. 
Meals ​​There is a mid-day lunch break every day.  There are restaurants within walking distance of the courthouse.  You may bring your lunch but there is NO eating or drinking except water allowed in the courtroom. 
Parking/Transportation The court does not pay for transportation fares, parking fees, or parking violations.  The main entrance to the Court is located on East State Street and the parking lot and entrance with elevator access is located on East Park Street.  If you need to make travel arrangements, the Orleans Transit Service phone number is  585-589-0707.
Security  ​Court Officers are stationed throughout the court.  Members of the public must pass through a magnetometer to enter.  Please arrive early and allow extra time for this process.  
Please be aware:  The New York State Court System does not ask prospective jurors for financial information such as credit card, bank account, and personal information such as the names and ages of your family members.  Do not provide this kind of information to anyone claiming to represent the court system.  Please access the FTC’s identity theft web page to report any identity theft and obtain a recovery plan:
